Ten volunteers arrived from North Carolina, who were mostly members of First Baptist Church of Locust, led by pastor Tommy Ross to serve at the Ferenc Kazinczy Baptist Primary School and Kindergarten in Nyírbogdány. Seventy children participated in the five-day-long camp, that lasted from 8:30am to 3pm on a day. During that time, the children got to create crafts, listen to Bible stories, participate in English and music lessons, did sports and got acquainted with American culture. The Hungarian volunteering translators and workers of Hungarian Baptist Aid helped to have fluent communication between the children and the American guests.

A similar program was set up in Ibrány, thanks to the members of Southview Baptist Church, who also travelled to Hungary from North Carolina. Karen Waldo, the leader of the volunteer American team, travells to Hungary every summer since 2008 to help the children in need.
